GNANAVALLAL PARANJOTHI MAHAN

Jagath Mahaguru Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan was born on May 2, 1900 in a village called Kansapuram in Ramnad district in Tamil Nadu, to Syad Ibrahim and Munnsha Beevi. Though not formally educated, he had a dire thirst for knowledge and the true meaning of life.

This eventually got him to attain wisdom on Nov 11, 1911 at 11:11 am and this time, is now dedicated as the one minute to remain silent in prayer for world peace. When he turned 16, he traveled to Rangoon where he worked with his uncle and later started his own business. However, his quest for knowledge never left him and he continued to visit many Yogis, Buddhist monks and spiritual leaders hoping to master adequate knowledge from them as answers for his search.

On the 7th January 1938, he met his Guru, Haribullah Kamil Syed Ibrahim who initiated him into the Tantric system of Yoga. This was regarded as one of the most important moments in his life and felt a great change come over him. He devoted more time to the practice of meditation on a research basis and soon attained the state of enlightenment. Mahan traveled all around the world to share his enlightenment that he attained through ‘Gnana Meditated Yoga Disha’.

Learning from his own experience of self- realisation, he pioneered simplified Kundalini Meditation for the benefit of the masses.

Soon his teachings crossed borders and were accepted around the world. He also explained the philosophical meaning of God and Nature to everyone. Soon he was patronised by the public and quickly became known as “Gnanavallal” or the “Wise One”.

Returning from Rangoon in 1939, he came to Madurai to educate his own land about his learnings, he soon formed his first ‘Gnana Sabai in 1941 and founded the “Universal Peace Sanctuary” in 1947. After Aadhi Sankara, Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan is the one who re-established ‘Advaitha’ philosophy and appointed many wisdom teachers to spread the same. He is mostly remembered for his easy verses on understanding ‘Gnana’ and its basic technique of ‘Thava’ through various practices. On January 7, 1981 he attained Samadhi in Pondicherry.

JAGATHGURU MAHA MAHARISHI PARANJOTHIAR

(GURUMAHAN)

Born to Thiru. Krishnamoorthy and Smt. Lakshmy Ammal on the February 11th, 1955 at Bhavani in Erode District, Tamil Nadu, Dhavamani (affably now known as Gurumahan) took to explore his glorious destiny. From childhood, that was spent in practising yoga, reading holy scripts and visiting holy places, Gurumahan had shown signs of being chosen to experience higher callings as he often had occasions wherein his soul separated from his body. Persistent to find the truth, his initiation into “Kundalini Yoga” meditation lead him towards His Holiness JagatMahaguru ‘Gnanavallal’ Paranjothi Mahan and got all his questions answered.

Gurumahan instituted the Universal Peace Foundation (UPF) as a Trust to accentuate his Master’s spiritual practices and message throughout the world. They hence laid its foundations in the Thirumoorthi Hills (also called South Kailash) the most desired place for studies in meditation and herbal medicine. Until now he has performed 27 Holy Penances for the sake of Universal Peace. He is the founder of various other institutions and organizations that contribute to practices of yoga and herbal medicine and has met a lot of people from all around the world to personally pass on the baton of peace.

As the name suggests, the foundation envisions a world that comprises of people who have maximized their potential and have found inner peace. Such enlightened citizens of the world would be thereby contributing towards universal peace.

The foundation guides people into spirituality, awakening them and sparking the immense dormant potential in them. The world could be a happier and more meaningful place if its people, under the umbrella of the foundation’s universal administration, promote brotherhood, love and mutual respect for all.

Associating with the UPF means one would benefit the world by way of reduced violence, decrease in expenditure for war and maintaining armies, unbiased mind-frames, eradication of poverty and hunger, equitable distribution of natural resources, timely and evolved healthcare, a restored pollution-free environment and prevention of natural calamities through spiritual intervention. The universal truth of non-duality or one entity that just transforms is another revelation that revolutionizes our understanding of birth and death by educating them on the identity that one is a soul and not a body.
